The Federal Commerce Fee (FTC) has formally dropped its case towards Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. The FTC filed an order to dismiss its criticism on Thursday, simply days after it lost an appeal for a preliminary injunction to stop Microsoft from finalizing its acquisition.
“The Fee has decided that the general public curiosity is greatest served by dismissing the executive litigation on this case,“ says the FTC in its filing. The submitting brings an finish to the FTC’s struggle to try to block Microsoft’s $68.7 billion deal, practically two years after it originally sought a brief restraining order and injunction from a US federal district court docket.
